Reading Virtual Reality

Watching the film ExistenZ was particularly interesting to me because I am not one that relates to Video Games at all. Don’t get me wrong, I like to be taken to a different world in my mind by reading poems or listening to songs with lyrics that take me to another place, but I have never experienced the excitement of gaming.

In ExistenZ reality gets deformed while we see two game companies compete against each other – a group of realists tries to prevent the fact.

I think that in our world, and in my generation, a lot of young adults try to escape their lives with playing games to a certain point where it is unhealthy and where they don’t interact with real human beings as much as I think they should. To me it is far more important to go on adventures with peers and experience other ‘worlds’ like other countries or cultures than escaping reality and stare into a box that has no heartbeat.

Although I like myself a great movie and this was definitely an interesting one to watch with creepy objects and a strange plot. Definitely right up my alley – it definitely pleased the strange side inside of me.
